Greco Super Sound

Greco guitars is the Japanese
manufacturer that went on to make the legendary Fender JV series guitars, so effectively
whether it is Greco or Fender Japan, they are from the same maker. I
believe that this piece has a Alder body; certainly not like basswood which doesn't cut it for me.
3-way vintage switch, 3 single coils. Classic '70s large Strat styling
head stock with a nice Vintage sunburst finish and vintage style bridge.
This is an excellent guitar - incredibly flexible with very distinct tones in all positions
suitable for all genre of music. Bright and vibrant but warm and rich at the same time.
Action was easy. Nice and low when I got it but has a little
buzz. Since it's a vintage that's acceptable. I had a set up and fret leveling
done and now it's a treat to play. Finish is okay nothing to shout about. I often
wonder if a set of CTS pots and original vintage noiseless would make this sound even better...
But as my principal goes - if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Been playing
as a guitarist for years now and I own several Fender Strats which don't
deliver as well as this baby. Had some doubt when
I initially purchased this, but it has proven to be every penny well
spent and more!
